Manifesto:
Stumpy for VP Sport
Building a Stronger, More Connected Sports Community
Sport in Bangor means everything to me, the AU has been the most important and enjoyable part of my Uni experience, as VP I would push to create more of community in bag or around sport starting with social media and bridging the gap between the SU/AU and the teams it represents.
My Key Commitments:
Enhancing Social Media Presence
I will use social media to showcase our incredible athletes, promote events, and celebrate the achievements of all sports clubs, Currently I believe we don’t use social media effectively, we should focus more on our teams and their events.
Wednesday’s for Competition
Balancing academics and sport shouldn’t be a struggle. I will push for Wednesday mornings to be kept free of university commitments, I will also push for important practicals and Labs to be put on other days, ensuring players don’t worry about having to let their teams down or effecting their education.
Emergency Equipment Fund
No student should miss out on sport due to financial barriers and no team unable to compete. I will establish an emergency equipment fund to support those in need, ensuring that every athlete has the gear they require to participate and succeed.
Drop in sessions
To make sure that there is communication between the AU and the teams, I will create a timeslot where I will be available for students to come, discuss issues and problems that need addressing.
Vote Morgan ‘Stumpy’ for VP of Sport
Together, we can make Bangor’s sports scene stronger, more inclusive, and better connected than ever before. Let’s build a community where every athlete has the opportunity to excel—on and off the field.
