Housing Campaigns

Over the next couple of months we will be working closely with the University’s Housing Office, Shelter Cymru and NUS Wales to help you get the best housing and help on a national level to #fixstudenthousing

It’s that time of year when some students think about moving into student housing for the upcoming academic year and we want to guide you through it so you find yourself in the best possible situation next year. Follow our 6 step guide here.

We’re keen to hear from the more experienced students about their experiences of living in student housing and would love to get your top tips for students thinking about moving into student housing next year. Fill in our form here or our poll on Instagram.

We’ll be hosting a drop in session on Level 2 Pontio on the 22nd and 25th of November between 11am and 4pm where we will be joined by the Univesity’s Housing Office and Shelter Cymru. This sessions will be an opportunity to get some housing advice from the experts. They will also be able to direct you to and discuss Studentpad the only place to find privately rented student housing registered with Bangor University.

NUS Wales and Shelter Cymru recently surveyed hundreds of students at universities across Wales about their student housing experiences. They’ve published a report on their findings which includes recommendations on how to make student housing better. Conducted in May and June 2021, the survey’s findings clearly demonstrate the multitude of issues students face and the need to #FixStudentHousing. The system is broken at the foundations and rather than protecting students, it often works against them.
