Tanvir Alam Limon

Manifesto:

Vice President for Education – Bangor University Student Union

Empowering Every Student, Elevating Education

Hello, I’m Tanvir Alam Limon, and I’m running for Vice President for Education to ensure that every student has fair access to education, clear academic support, and better opportunities for success. Many students struggle with financial barriers, unclear placement processes, and scholarship miscommunication—issues I aim to resolve.

Enhancing Learning & Academic Support

I will advocate for flexible learning options to make education more accessible. Clearer grading policies and better feedback on assessments will help students track their progress. Additionally, I will work with faculties to balance coursework and expand peer mentoring programs, so students receive better academic support.

Students facing financial challenges should not lose access to essential learning materials. I will work on a fairer system to ensure Blackboard access remains available while students arrange payments. Similarly, many students lose scholarships unexpectedly due to unclear terms. I will push for better communication between students, the university, and external agencies, ensuring scholarship details are fully disclosed before enrollment.

Improving Placement Opportunities

Many students are unaware of placement options, and some departments do not offer structured placements. I will:

  • Ensure all departments provide placement opportunities.
  • Simplify the placement process with clear step-by-step guides.
  • Increase placement awareness through workshops and better communication.
  • Strengthen university-employer connections to expand internship and career opportunities.

Student Well-Being & Inclusion

I will advocate for better mental health support, flexible deadlines, and improved access to financial aid to support student success. Stronger student representation will ensure faster responses from academic departments. I will also promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal access to education for all students, including better support for international students.

Why Vote for Me?

I have first-hand experience with these challenges and a clear plan to fix them.
I will improve placements, scholarship transparency, and student support services.
I am committed to making Bangor University’s education system more student-friendly.

Vote for Limon as Vice President for Education—let’s work together for a better academic experience!
