Chair

Rose Pugh

Hi! I'm Rose (she/her), your chair for this year! After running the society's socials as social secretary last year, I decided to run for chair in order to play a bigger role in running the society! This year, as well as continuing our two socials a week and our movie nights and book club, I want to increase our charity and fundraising work, run some educational talks and workshops, particularly on LGBTQ+ history and sexual health, and collaborate more with other societies and clubs!

Alongside my work on the society committee, I'm also the Transgender Students' Council officer, as well as both an LGBTQ+ and Trans, Agender, and Non-Binary course rep, so if you have any questions or concerns about life as a LGBTQ+ student, let me know, and I'll see what I can do to help!

I've just graduated from a zoology with herpetology undergraduate degree, and am now studying a research masters in biological sciences, studying the role of gene expression in poison dart frog colouration. Alongside my studies, I work as a barista in a National Trust cafe! When I'm not studying or working, I like going for walks, reading, charity shopping, going to cafes, and nights out!

If you want to get in contact to suggest ideas for the society or anything else, send me an email at llp20tks@bangor.ac.uk, message me through the society Discord server or Instagram page, or say hi in person at one of our events!

Hope to see you around!
