How to get outside is a series of events to help you learn some of the basics of safely going into Eryri!

This walk is the Cwm Idwal loop. It is a 5km circuit of Llyn Idwal starting at Ogwen Cottage. This walk is beginner-friendly and is designed for people who are new to hiking and anyone who wants to discover Eryri for the first time. We will be accompanied by a National Trust ranger who will talk about local fauna, flora, and geology.

Packing list:

• Hiking boots or shoes, or trainers with good tread
• A waterproof jacket
• A warm layer like a fleece or puffer jacket
• A spare layer in your bag
• Water and snacks
• A backpack to put layers, water and snacks into.
